Why do I do Yoga? So that I can deal with people. So that I can set aside my own ego to hear what people are saying. So I can stay in the moment and respond with helpful truths. I practice yoga so that i can deal with my family. So when the one year old is acting like a one year old I can understand that and not at get mad at him for it. So when the five year old is telling me for the 45th time that something plain and ordinary happened I can be just as excited as he is, because he still is not used to plain and ordinary. I practice Yoga so that i can deal with myself. I practice putting myself in uncomfortable positions and then I focus on my breath until I can tolerate the pose. I practice slowing down because speeding up is all around me. I practice yoga because I am not afraid of myself, I welcome my weaknesses to the forefront of my mind's eye and I want to deal with them, to make them not as much of a weakness. I practice Yoga for the buzz. I practice, because it's not something that you do. I don't do Yoga. Each Asana builds up to another and there is no end destination, no point in which you are finished, it is as perpetual as is life, and that is why it is the perfect practice for life. I practice yoga to be good at life....
